They are now native to North America but the origin is Asia. They were in North America as far as we can go in history. Canada has the maple leaf Official symbol and adorn Canadian flag and the arms of Canada.

In France, England, Japan, North America [to name a few countries], maple is a popular ornamental tree beautiful. It grows quickly and can grow to 20 – 60 feet high, with an age gap couple of 40-50 feet, but the average height is 20-40 feet. The crown of the maple is slightly ovular and symmetrical and will extend to maturity. Maples are among the first to bloom and thoughts of spring dance in our heads. This early flowering attracts many types of pollinators, and this attracts birds feeding on insects that feed on these pollinators, helping to reduce damage caused by unwanted insects.

Small red flowers grow in dense clusters and decorate the tree for about 4 weeks. They are usually five lobes, with a small lobe on each side of three lobes. The samaras, which are winged, one fruit seeds are affectionately nicknamed "Helicopter" because of how they spin as they project onto the ground. Squirrels, chipmunks and birds as cardinals love to eat these "helicopter" fruits, which take flight in the spring. The stems and twigs are reddish tones, buds and flowers are red and fall, the leaves turn a red orange to scarlet, from which name has been given to the Red Sunset maple.

The foliage is deciduous [broadleaf shedding foliage at the end of the season growth]. The leaves are star-shaped with three primary veins show a maple leaf and can reach up to 6 inches diameter. In March as spring arrives, the leaves are a pale, tender green, which sometimes have a hint of rust color for a few days before they become totally green. They become brighter in summer and orange to scarlet crimson in fall, making the Red Sunset Maple one of the best for fall colors. As the tree prepares for winter which is normally in the month of September and October, the leaves turn green the notable red represents a sunset. In winter, the ends of branch and twigs are a nice red burgundy.

Red Sunset maple prefers full sun, but it will also grow in partial shade and full as it is very adaptable. If you want to plant this tree, keep in mind that the root surface in May growth could be an obstacle when mowing the lawn. It is wiser to think forward rather than having regrets with hindsight.
