Sadler Teapot
I have a Sadler teapot with the number 448 in gold on the bottom and signed, no date, no info?

The teapot is pink in color Cream with gold trim around the spout, handle, top and bottom. The bottom is signed Sandler did in England with the number 448 in gold. It has no date and I can not find one that resembles it. Do we know when this teapot would have been made or if it has any value?

I have a collection of large teapots, many of which are Sadlers (not Sandlers). The number "448" is simply the "style" issue. Without seeing the actual pot (we send a picture?), it is difficult to know the date of creation. Sadlers are still manufactured in England and in perfect condition can range from about value $ 35-250. For a teapot to be valid it must meet several criteria: 1. It must be in perfect condition, no chips or stains everywhere on the pot. 2. If it has the luster of gold over, the chandelier should be in perfect condition, no fading or faded spots. 3. It must be a model no longer made or is rare or highly sought by other collectors. 4. It has to be in a color which may no longer be made (SOME such as red and cobalt blue). Sadler has been particularly popular in the period 1940-50. You need to find books on the manufacturer who tell you what is your model (the factory name / name) and possibly its value. Hope this helps.
