I just received my goldfish. And put them in a bowl with the exterior of the pottery fountain (I had g-, Koi fish before)
An hour later they jumped. I've restarted by moving water through their gills, but they had lost a few scales. Is there hope for Tony and Cleo?
Hi Penny, they will probably be ok but your going to have to do serious research and get your fish to another house. I guess you do not treat the water before adding the fish is what blew. The untreated water to the gills of a fish is like soap get in your eyes. You also need to cover when the housing Goldfish because even if the water is perfect, they are passionate riders. You need a tank and at least 20 gallons with a fitted lid & a Ilter noted for more than 30 gallons. The link below is an excellent resource for care Goldfish good. The scales will grow back in perfect conditions of water for about 2 months.
