What should I look for in buying Polish Pottery?
I do lack some new dishes. I am fascinated by Polish Pottery, I been found on ebay, but it seems they have a different appearance and sizes. Plates appear instead of 9 to 11 inches. Is there a better brand collection another. Are there fake, and what should I watch? Thank you!
The best way to know how or if anything is recoverable is to go to your local library and take out a book on the subject. I would not recommend that collectible dishes every day as they were more likely to be broken, thus losing their value. As for fakes, the books will give you enough knowledge to identify any false, and you can talk to antiques and china dealers to learn more. I begin to buy styles / sizes that you like and then, as you become more sophisticated, diversified in styles the most collectible.
