How to cut a plate-shaped porcelain?
Is it possible you can cut a porcelain dish / plate shaped like a butterfly or a heart? What tool / s would I need to do this? I saw an old saucer made in the shape of butterfly a while ago and I was wondering how it is done. Thank you.
Yes, I still do. You need to buy a rotary ceramic or diamond or Bow cutter. The cheapest that I know, is the blade Diamond Cutting Bow. Personally, I use a rotary saw (just like a mini router) for my work. Router-mate Infinity and both make great and inexpensive tools that will work. The Bow saw looks, and acts as a coping saw. It simply uses a Blade diamond studded. Just a word of warning. I used the ceramic blade before. I found them easily breakable and unreliable.
