You perform a lab experiment where you put a piece of skeletal muscle in a medium without calcium. What?

You do a laboratory experiment where you put a piece of skeletal muscle in a medium without calcium. What would happen if you depolarize the membrane of muscle? That would happen if you depolarize the somatic motor neurons innervating the muscle?

Nothing. Assuming that no sarcoplasmic reticulum in muscle, there is no calcium everywhere. You need calcium to contract the muscle (it moves to expose troponin binding site contracting muscle). Since there is no Ca, custom muscle contract.
