Never Used
How long the electronic consoles last if never used?

People sell things online like PS2, X BOX PSP and laptops are a few years. But still sealed in box and never used. Basically, the only feature of the electronic wear over time, even if never used? If yes, how long before the feature begins to wear?

Use Wear molded electronics is caused by using it, if you look at a processor, for example, those of heat, melting the magnetism witch in their basic set end of life about 7 years continuous use. Other parts, however, as the capacitors can dry just standing in a box and not be used in all.Dust is a problem because it "could cause" shorts if it accumulates along without the machine be turned on. But if its still packed in the original box, this is not a concern. Market Driven Design designs usually defect in the machine causing a malfunction or problem after using a sufficiently long time (entries on the controllers get faded, the switches in the controller fails, the laser disk drives), but electronics are not really a life-positioned to it. So long answer to say sitting on a shelf never hurts to electronics. You might need to replace some batteries for their internal clocks, but the rest might work after an indefinite time.
