What made Japan take Korea since Korea was more advanced?
Hundreds of years ago Korea was more advanced than Japan, the Koreans have rocket launches, vessels of turtles and other more advanced stuff. So why Japan could take to advance and conquer Korea? What happened, did they win a battle in particular?
Korea has the misfortune to be alongside China, who conquered the place fairly regularly. Korea would re-emerge as an independent country when China was weak. In the late 19th century the Chinese gov't has been particularly busy week and was trying to fight against the Western powers who took advantage of his weakness. Japan has been newly industrialized and has also benefited from the weakness of China to Korea for NAB itself. Use this as a starting point for your search. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eulsa_Treaty
