What a vanity jar vintage hair receiver and what does hair receiver?
I have a little porcelain pot floral toilet is round, 4 "wide, 3'1 / 2" tall with a lid that has a 1-1/2 "hole in the top, a metal band filigree in the middle. The bottom is stamped with Limoges France (with an inbetween WG). I thought it was for pot-pourri, but while trying to learn more about this subject, I see that the items are called "vanity jars receiving hair." I am curious what receiver hair "means, and what age the potty?
Victorians used a receiver to collect the hair dryer in. Their hair brushes they used, and put it in the small pots. They used to use it for wigs, or make jewelry. (Yes, they wore bracelets of hair.). You should try to take it to an antique or someone like that and see if they can put a date on that.
