Large Bowl

"Bowling Alley", "Bowling Center", "bowl" and "house" are used interchangeably to describe the building bowling which takes place. Bowling lanes are usually composed of several tracks (as many as 100 or more), but may consist of a few alleys. Some track people in their homes, while I would not consider this alley, bowling, in itself, it is in the most literal. One way is sometimes referred as a bowling alley. For purposes of this section, a bowling alley or house will refer to a place where there are several ways and the games are purchased.

Where Are Bowling?

They are everywhere. Lately it seems that more homes are closing due to ownership and maintenance of prices go to expensive, or lack of use. Look in your local telephone directory, you should be able to find some houses in your region. Bowling is a popular sport and therefore there are many bowling centers in most areas. If you can not find where you live, check the nearest city or large town, there can be only one in Driving Distance on where you live.

Recently a large bowling stadium was built in Reno, NV (USA). If you want to see a very large house is the place to go. If you get a chance to bowl there is really something! I rode there on several occasions and really enjoyed it. The PBA (Pro Bowlers Association) there are tournaments and the USBC. Some of the tournaments that I know of that bowl there are the PBA, USBC Nationals, USBC Mixed, and the High Roller. This stadium was built expressly for the purpose of treating large bowling tournaments, and is not allowed to have leagues in it. It also has a great Pro Shop (located to buy stuff from bowling), which even has a bowling alley in it so you can see everything! They will, videotape of your game and help you determine what you need to improve. It is quite impressive.

Bowling Center Layout

Most bowling alleys will have an office (where you buy games) bar, games room, at least one meeting room, a room to handle babysitting, and, of course, ways! Many houses have a pro shop as well.

The office is usually located somewhere near the center of the house and the bar is usually not far away. For most bowlers that's all you need to know about bowling here! Drinking and bowling go together for many bowlers (not me though). There now clear that the bar is centralized in the bowling alley. The game room is usually centralized in the bowling alley too, and mostly contains billiard tables, video games and pinball machines.

Meeting rooms can be anywhere in the alley, the alley and head from 25 – 100s of people. The meeting rooms are used for League meetings, receptions, anniversaries, etc. …. Most of the time, one of the rooms will have toys and things in it for the children. This room is usually used for baby-sitting the bowlers. Most bowling alleys offer babysitting and free for children until age 7 or 8 for the bowlers in the league. This is handy when you're bowling.

Pro Shops are very popular in bowling alleys. Inside the pro shop, you will find almost everything you need for bowling balls bags and shoes, brushes, and powder or resin. You can even get advice from a "pro". Most pro shops are is owned by a professional bowler or ask a professional on staff. Note, however, not all people working in the shop the pros are pro, and not all necessarily have your best interests at heart. There are many things to buy and if you are Getting equipment, make sure you talk to someone who knows your game. Buying equipment for bowling is not as simple as catching a ball and shoes.
