Pastry, how can I make a pastry lid stick on ceramic dish?
I'll make a big meat pie comes with a lid of paste, not basic. I bought a large ceramic type / pot dish, how do I stick the lid of dough into the dish and does not come off not in the oven? For dinner I want it to look good! Any tips?
I had this same problem in the past, my solution was just sliding the cover dough around the top of the pie meat and not set on the rim of the ceramic pot. When cooked crust grow a little and it will be lovely. Be sure to add a slot on top to allow steam to escape for more than decoration, you can also add a braid or crown of dough around the cut out using leaves or hearts (for Valentines Day). Good luck!
