Demitasse Tea

A few times a year I like to plan and organize a tea party for some of my closest friends.

What exactly is a tea party? A tea party is a social gathering at which tea and refreshments are served. This social gathering is usually held during the Mid-morning or afternoon half-term.

When it comes to host a party, you should make plans 3-4 weeks in advance. Here are the things you need to plan.

Date and Time – You'll need to choose a date and time. This social gathering usually lasts 1 1 / 2 to 2 hours.

Location – You can hold the meeting in your home (inside or outside) or find a place to relax as your club local private or park garden.

Theme – What kind of theme would you like your party? You could do a mother and daughter, friends, school, neighbors, coworkers or a mom / grandmother theme.

Invitations – Your invitations should match the theme of your party. They need to include all necessary information, such as: Who, What, When and where. Your invitations should be mailed to your guests 2 weeks before the date of the party.

Supplies – What kind of supplies do you need? You will need: a variety of teas, food, teapots, kettle, cups, door-tea bag, sugar, cream, demitasse spoons, dessert plates, silverware, plates, napkins and a tablecloth lace.

Food – The food you serve at a tea party should be on the light side. Scones, muffins, pastries, fancy cookies, pies, cookies and sandwiches work best. You could also provide a cake full size dessert, fruit covered in chocolate and chocolate truffles.

Teas – You should serve your guests a variety of teas. Black teas are most popular in North America followed by green tea. In addition to your teas offer some accompaniments such as cream, milk, sugar, artificial sugar, lemon and honey.

These are the main steps you'll need to take to have a tea party success. The most important is to have fun and stress-free fun for you and your guests.
