What is the best way to clean the deck on my tarnished platinum-rimmed china?
The dishes are not safe in the dishwasher and so I always hand wash china and put it back in protective sleeves. I noticed last week that some of the plates tarnish around the rim, which is platinum. I tried washing them again, but no luck! Any help is greatly appreciated!
The deck is so thin on China – you may see where it is worn and does not tarnish .. If your china is precious to you take a piece of jewelry reputation a store and ask for advice jewelers Let an expert help you. Everything you buy in the store to clean platinum will be too abrasive for the thin layer. If someone tell you to try vinegar or lemon juice – remember they are weak acids and will further deteriorate the finish. Do not use toothpaste or baking soda – those who are abrasive.
