Who was the emperor of China during the Spring and Autumn period?
If this helps, I'm looking for the name of the emperor who existed at the time of Sun Tzu (author of The Art of War), King Helu, and Wu Zixu.
Spring and autumn period lasted from 770 BC to 476 BC, so there was more of an emperor. In addition, there were a number of independent or semi Independent States, all competing with each other for territory and power, China was not reall unified under a single rule time. Duke Huan of Qi (d. 643 BC), Duke Wen of Jin (reigned 636 BC – 628 BC) Duke Mu of Qin (659 BC ruled – 621 BC), Duke Xiang of Song (650 before Ruled AD – 637 BC) King Zhuang of Chu (died in 591 BC) King Helu of Wu (514 BC ruled – 496 BC) King Fuchs Wu (495 BC ruled – 473 BC), king of Yue Goujian (British Columbia ruled 496-465 BC) are all known to have been prominent leaders during the Spring and Autumn period.
