As the most popular sport during the reign of King Henry VIII of England, bowling is still one of the most popular sports in the world. Over 100 million bowlers from nearly 90 countries participate in this sport. The popularity of bowling has been traced back many years and the game has contributed benefits to many people world wide.
The memoirs begin bowling in 5200 BC when some archaeologists have unearthed ancient forms of bowling balls and in the crypt of a child with Egyptian lineage. This discovery proves that Egyptians were the bowlers earlier in the world.
Since then, bowling has taken many forms, using different pins, balls and play for different purposes. For example, in 200 AD, it was found that the Germans were fond of festivities and "dance village" and that among their ancient rituals is a game that resembles bowling today.
In this game specifically German, the Germans rolled or threw stones and rocks at nine clubs which were made of wood. These clubs are known as "kegle", which is why the Germans have played this kind of bowling were known as "Keglers" and not bowlers.
After so many years of struggle for recognition, the bowling was finally recognized in England as a form of sport during the 1100s.
Since then, the popularity of bowling created an epidemic of type of influence, to infect millions of people. King Edward III even banned the game so that his knights would focus their attention on the "practice of archery" instead of rolling balls.
By the 17th century, when the United States was still a colony, the bowling was introduced in the region. Settlers "Dutch" made this game notable Americans. They introduced a set of pins that are placed in a triangular formation, hence the name "Dutch pine.
As the nine-pin or "Dutch" Pins tried to claim the glory, the State of Connecticut prohibits the practice of "nine-pin" bowling because some unscrupulous people have used the game as a means for their gambling activities.
Connecticut then added an additional PIN for the game, creating 10-pin bowling. This was the beginning of a new form of entertainment like bowling continued to proliferate in society. With this additional PIN code, this new form of bowling has definitely hit "the mark", and now many people around the world continue to attend the match.
With nearly 50 million Americans play the game, bowling is considered one of the most popular and enjoyable Sports in the United States
