Blues Cape Verde is the latest Rock CD released by the very talented Horace Silver has once again delivered a brilliant collection of tracks. I am confident fans Horace Silver, and Rock fans alike will be delighted with this person.
I wish it was not the case, but it's not every day that I get a CD from an artist that I can just pop in and comfortably listen to from beginning to end. There is usually a song or two that I can not force me to go. Not at all the case with the Cape Verdean Blues. Every track is enjoyable and was pretty easy for me to listen to from beginning to end.
One of the many refreshing things about this CD is the average of all participating artists seem to really enjoy themselves. Combine this with the overall and you get one of the most impressive releases Horace Silver has ever known.
Overall Blues Cape Verde is an outstanding output. What I call Need music. I give it two thumbs up and is certainly a worthy addition to any Rock collection. Truly an outstanding Rock CD. One of those is completely void of any wasted time, as each track is simply superb.
While the entire CD is outstanding the real standout tunes are track 2 – The African Queen, Track 3 – pretty eyes, and track 6 – Joe Mo '.
My Bonus Pick, and the one that got Sore [... as in "Stuck On Repeat"] is track 1 – The Blues Cape Verde. Wow!
