How can I increase Bird of Paradise in Mississippi?
I love Bird of Paradise flowers. I see them throughout California, and have even seen in Mississippi and Louisiana. I tried more and more myself but have never received a flower off a plant that I planted. Just have the green. How can I get a bird of paradise flower for me? I get nice green but no flowers. Please help. We Thanks in advance for any advice.
Your area is perfect for a bird of paradise (I'm also on the Gulf Coast). The problem with birds is that they are old enough to flower. From seed they can take up to 7 years. If you buy in a nursery is wise to spend money for one years old 3 -5 facilities. These should flower within a year or 2 if they are planted in soil in a place open sun. The birds breed also similar to bananas each year and hope to be watered regularly, this has helped
